Beth  Muller
Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.
Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.

Intrieri helps Gators swim past Behrend

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Brandon Intrieri and Christian Steinwarz won two solo events apiece to lead the Allegheny men's swimming and diving team over Penn State Behrend, 128-102, on Saturday at Mellon Pool.

Intrieri sped to wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 200 butterfly. His time in the free was 1:47.39 and his time in the fly was 2:05.13. Meanwhile, Steinwarz was first in the 400 individual medley (4:29.09) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.83).

Matt Gauthier, Ashton Kinney, Mirno Pasquali and Christian Steinwarz were also individual winners for the Gators. Gauthier claimed the 1,000 free (10:29.66); Kinney won the 500 free (5:02.26); and Pasquali placed first in the 200 backstroke (2:00.51).

Allegheny's 200 medley relay team of Kyle Lincoln, Andrew Bean, Josh Sesek and Mirno Pasquali placed first in 1:42.02. The 800 free relay team also won its event. It consisted of Gauthier, Intrieri, Sesek and Steinwarz.

Sesek nearly won the 50 free, finishing second in :23.06, but was barely out-touched by Behrend's Clay Altemose (:23.02).

Allegheny will compete next on Friday when it hosts North Coast Athletic Conference foe Oberlin at 6 p.m.
