MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Lauren Karl and Megan Knox won two individual events each to lead the Allegheny women's swimming and diving team over Penn State Behrend, 123.5-90.5, on Saturday at Mellon Pool.
Karl was a winner in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 2:04.68 and 5:30.57, respectively. Knox claimed her victories in the 200 backstroke (2:19.90) and 1,000 free (11:07.22).
Rachelle Barrett, Molly Durot, Ariana Lyons, Christine Smith and Tara Stein were also first-place finishers for the Gators. Barrett won the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.83 while Durot claimed the 200 butterfly in 2:16.68. Lyons placed first in the 50 free (:25.07), Smith touched first in the 400 individual medley (4:59.86) and Stein bested the field in the 100 free (:57.80).
Smith added a second-place spot in the 200 free (2:05.81) and was out-touched by teammate Karl.
Allegheny will be in action next on Friday when it hosts fellow North Coast Athletic Conference member Oberlin at 6 p.m.
