Silva named NCAC Player of the Week

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Nick Silva has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the game of Nov. 14.
The senior defensive lineman had a season-best nine tackles, including three and a half sacks to help the Gators defeat Ohio Wesleyan 30-13 in the season finale on Saturday. One of his sacks stopped a Battling Bishops drive and set up an Allegheny touchdown to break open a 13-all tie.
Silva finished the season with 52 tackles, leading the squad with eight tackles for a loss of 49 yards and a team-high 5.5 sacks.
The Gators finished the season 8-2 overall and finished third in the NCAC with a 5-2 mark.
