Beth  Muller
Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.
Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men’s swimming and diving team won 11 events, winning the first 10 and sweeping three to defeat Oberlin 162-91 for its first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) win of the season.

Brandon Intrieri swam three season-best times  and won two races for the Gators. He touched first in the 50 free in 21.87 and 48.18 in the 100 free.  He also shaved off some time in the 100 butterfly, posting a time of 51.66 as exhibition.

Josh Sesek was a double winner, winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke. He led a 1-2-3 finish in each event. He led Andrew Bean and Christian Steinwarz with a time of 1:01.29. Bean came in second with 1:02.25 and Steinwarz was third with 1:03.70.  In the 200 breaststroke, Steinwarz beat Bean for second this time. Sesek earned nine points with his time of 2:16.85. Steinwarz touched in 2:20.71 and Bean took eight seconds off his season-best time in this event (2:22.29).

Allegheny’s third sweep came in the 1000-yard freestyle. Ashton Kinney finished first in 10:32.60, followed by Brandon Staley (10:33.84) and Kristoffer Wigley (10:44.63). Staley also picked up an individual win with a season-best time of 2:06.74 in the 200 butterfly.

Mirno Pasquali and Matt Gauthier joined Steinwarz and Sesek in the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay. The foursome swam 1:42.11 for first, before Pasquali and Gauthier went on their own to post an individual victory. Pasquali won the 100 backstroke by taking 11 seconds off his best time this season for a time of 56.60. Gauthier swam his season best in the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 1:49.04 and Pasquali was a close second (1:49.53).

In diving, Patrick Juber had his top score come in the 1-meter with a 172.55 total. He scored 154.15 on the three-meter board.

Freshman Tyler Torbet and Staley were 1-2 in the 200 backstroke. Torbet’s season-best of 2:03.13 earned him first, while Staley tallied a time of 2:04.05.

 The Gators return to action tomorrow at Fredonia State. Meet begins at 1 p.m.
