Beth  Muller
Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.
Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.

Gators set two pool records in win at Fredonia State

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Josh Sesek was a part of both pool records that were set in Allegheny’s 168-104 win over Fredonia State in non-conference swimming and diving action on Saturday.

Sesek set the pool record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of1:00.91 for first place, before joining the 200 free relay team comprised of Brandon Intrieri, Mirno Pasquali and Matt Gauthier. Those four swam in 1:29.03 to set a new pool time and beat out two Blue Devils’ squads.

The Gators made an opening statement by taking the top three spots in the 1650-yard freestyle.  Brandon Staley recorded the first-place finish in 17:36.16 and Ashton Kinney was second with 17:45.32, while Kristoffer Wigley took third (18:00.67).

Intrieri and Gauthier went 1-2 in the 200 free, before Pasquali, Tyler Torbet and Kyle Lincoln (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) were first, second and third, respectively, in the 100 backstroke. All three posted times under the one-minute mark for Allegheny.

Christian Steinwarz was an individual winner in the 200 butterfly (2:02.77). Intrieri picked up his second of three first-place finishes with a time of 21.98 in the 50 free and Timothy O’Brien came in second (23.17).

The third victory for Intrieri was in the 100 freestyle, touching in 48.33 to help Allegheny take a commanding lead. After the 100 freestyle, the Gators won the next three events. It was another 1-2-3 for Allegheny in the 200 backstroke, led by Pasquali. He touched in 1:59.98. Torbet was second (2:03.19) and Gauthier was third (2:09.86).

Sesek was victorious for the second time on the afternoon, claiming the 200 breaststroke (2:15.11) and Steinwarz was two seconds behind for runner-up with a time of 2:17.45). The final event won by the Gators was by Gauthier in the 500 free with a time of 5:04.79.

The win marked Allegheny’s third dual-meet victory in a row.

The Gators return to action on December 3 at the Wooster Invitational.
