Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.
Beth  Muller
Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.

Volleyball falls to Wittenberg in the NCAC semifinals

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep over Allegheny in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) semifinals on Friday evening to advance to their 18th consecutive championship match. 

The Tigers, who recorded their fourth straight undefeated NCAC regular season record, will face the winner of No. 2 Hiram and No. 3 Wooster. The championship match is slated for 2 p.m. tomorrow. The win was achieved by final set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-19. Wittenberg attacked at a .254 clip, pounding out 51 kills against 18 errors in 130 attempts. The Gators managed just 21 kills and 12 errors on 101 attempts. 

Wittenberg freshmen Christina Gilene and Kelli Axner combined for 27 digs, while Sarah Sckena led both teams with 22 digs. Caitlin Solan led Allegheny with nine kills and Laura Gaudreau tallied four kills and a .400 attack percentage. Caileigh Hughes finished with 11 assists and Caitlin Rothman contributed four blocks. 

Solan earned a spot on the NCAC All-Tournament Team.
