Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.
Beth  Muller
Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.

Gators eliminated by Hiram

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Allegheny softball team dropped a 4-2 decision to Hiram, thus eliminating it from the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at Denison. With the win, the Terriers claimed the tourney crown.

Hiram collected only five hits, but bunched them all in the second inning. Rosie Frank had a one-out single and scored on Heidi Gipson's RBI double, putting the Terriers ahead 1-0. Ashley Pike then followed with a two-run home run.

Jena Ervin scored Hiram's fourth run. She reached on a two-base error and crossed the plate on a single by Stephanie Zunic, giving the Terriers a 4-0 advantage.

Allegheny came back with its only two runs in the fourth. With one out, Rachel Ryan and Bessie Artino smacked back-to-back singles. Katie Wills walked to load the bases before Marci Potuzko plated Ryan with an RBI single. Sara Doan, who batted 2-for-2, drove in Artino with a single, but the Gators were unable to push any more runs across.

Stacey Robertshaw started in the circle for Allegheny. After working a perfect first inning, she struggled in the second and was lifted in favor of Amanda Downey, who worked four perfect innings.

Hiram's Whitney Dropsey was the winning pitcher. She went the distance, finishing with one strikeout and one walk.

For the Gators, Ryan, Wills and Potuzko were named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team.
