Foster, Murphy, Zanic honored by IWLCA

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Graduates Erin Foster and Katie Murphy, along with rising senior Christina Zanic, three members of the Allegheny women’s lacrosse team, have been named to the 2009 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be at least a junior standing academically and have at least a grade-point average of 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their squad. The IWLCA recognized 407 student-athletes at 152 institutions.
Earlier this summer, the Gators were honored by the IWLCA as a team for attaining an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
