Katherine Hueter was the third player in double digits with 17 points for the Tigers (7-6, 5-0 NCAC), who went 18-for-23 from the free-throw line to make the difference and stay undefeated in conference play.

Every player that saw time for the Gators (5-9, 2-2 NCAC) put up points, including a game-high 14 points from Emilie Simone. Heidi Goeller shot 60 percent from the floor for 13 points and Brittany Bell tallied 10 points.

Wittenberg never trailed in the second half and built a double-digit lead in the final 10 minutes of the game to hand Allegheny its second straight loss in the same amount of days.

Kellsea Vasileff scored four out of her five points in just a minute’s time to help the Tigers take the lead for good at 53-49 with 13:51 left in the game. Dyer made a jumper and two free throws to make it 57-51. Lauren Donahoe got the next basket to cut the lead to four, but Hueter recorded six straight points to put Wittenberg into a double-digit lead with 4:20 on the clock.

The Gators only got one of four three-pointers taken to drop in the final 2:38 to fall short of the comeback.

In the first half, the Tigers took a one-point lead and turned it into 13 with a 14-2 run at 32-19.  Bell’s triple sparked Allegheny’s 5-for-6 shooting over the next three minutes to get within four at 34-30 and her jumper with five second to go before half kept it at a four-point deficit.

The Gators shot 43.1 percent from the floor, despite going 4-for-16 from behind the arc. Wittenberg went 26-for-65 from the field for an exact 40 percent shooting.
