MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Tim Brady poured in 27 points and led a hot-shooting Ohio Wesleyan team past Allegheny, 73-59, in a North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal game at the David V. Wise Center on Tuesday.

As a team, the fifth-seeded Battling Bishops shot 27 of 44 (61.4 percent) from the field and 7 of 12 from three-point land (58.3 percent). They led the No. 4 Gators by as many 18 points and used a slew of runs to keep the hosts at bay.

Brady, who shot 10 of 13 on the night, scored seven points and Pat Pellerite put in four during an early 11-point run by Ohio Wesleyan. The streak turned a one-point deficit into a 16-6 lead.

After taking a 40-28 advantage into halftime, the Battling Bishops increased their lead to 53-35 -- receiving four points apiece from Brady and Pellerite during an 8-0 OWU run -- with 13 minutes left in the game.

George Raftis trimmed the Gators' deficit with a layup, but was answered by Billy Reilich, who converted a layup of his own. Down 55-37, Allegheny then went on a 16-5 stretch and received points from five different players.

A three-pointer by Craig Devinney triggered the stretch. He and Raftis scored five points each during the rally, which enabled the Gators to pull within seven points at 60-53. Brady slammed home a dunk and Mike Schwartz bounced in a layup to help the Bishops extend their lead to 11, but Donte Briscoe then answered with back-to-back buckets, which held Allegheny pull back to a 64-57 deficit.

From that point, Ohio Wesleyan took control, going on a nine-point run which put the nail in Allegheny's coffin. Brady provided the hammer with four points during the stretch.

Pellerite was a key contributor for the Bishops. He had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Schwartz added 10 points for the winners.

The Gators were led by George Raftis, who had a double-double of his own. Raftis finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Briscoe contributed 12 points and five steals.

Raftis finished his collegiate career among the top scorers and rebounders in Allegheny men's basketball history. With 746 rebounds, he is ranked second all-time. He is also fifth all-time in points (1,294) and sixth in field goals (529).

Craig Devinney and Charlie Jaicks ended their Gator careers ranked sixth and seventh all-time in career three-pointers. Devinney finished with 144 while Jaicks buried 127.
