WOOSTER, Ohio -- Ian Franks and Bryan Wickliffe scored 19 points apiece and Wooster stayed unbeaten in North Coast Athletic Conference play with an 85-72 win over the Allegheny men's basketball team on Wednesday.

The Fighting Scots (16-4, 11-0) used an 11-point run in the first half to take a commanding 36-20 lead and led by seven or more points the rest of the way. Allegheny's Seth Eisner made a pair of free throws, cutting down a Wooster lead to 25-20, before the Scots' streak. Nathan Balch hit three straight jumpers, Franks added two freebies and then Matt Fegan landed a 3-pointer to complete the hosts' stretch. Wooster eventually took a 46-33 advantage into halftime.

Late in the second half, the Gators (10-9, 7-4) put in eight consecutive points and cut their deficit to 73-66. George Raftis started the rally, making one of two free throws, Craig Devinney made a jumper. Charlie Jaicks followed by hitting 2 of 2 from the charity stripe and then buried a trey with 2:29 on the clock.

Raftis fouled Franks on Wooster's next possession and the Fighting Scot made two shots from the line. Raftis came back with a layup, making the score 75-68, but then the hosts outscored Allegheny, 10-4, to end the Gators' hopes of a comeback.

Raftis was Allegheny's top scorer and rebounder, finishing with 20 points and nine rebounds. He moved into 11th on the Gators' all-time scoring list. With 1,224 points, he passed Jake Delsandro who scored 1,213 points in 1996-2000.
