Raftis Honored On All-NABC Region Team

Allegheny men's basketball player George Raftis has earned yet another postseason honor -- this time as a member of the All-National Association of Basketball Coaches Great Lakes Region Second Team.
Raftis had already garnered back-to-back All-North Coast Athletic Conference First Team honors. The senior became the fourth Gator to be honored on the First Team multiple times. It was Raftis's third All-NCAC mention; he was a Second Teamer in 2007-08.
Raftis finished the season with a team-leading 14.4 points and 8.3 rebounds. Among the conference leaders, he was ranked seventh and fourth, respectively, and compiled eight double-doubles. Raftis also rated third in field-goal percentage, shooting 53.9 percent (146 of 217).
He finished his collegiate career among the top scorers and rebounders in Allegheny men's basketball history. With 746 rebounds, he is ranked second all-time. He is also fifth all-time in points (1,294) and sixth in field goals (529).
