NCAC PREVIEW
Wittenberg is poised to defend its North Coast Athletic Conference title, according to league coaches as they predicted the Tigers will finish first in their annual preseason poll. Wittenberg returns 44 lettermen and 13 starters from last year’s 12-1 team, including 2009 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Eddie Vallery.
Wabash, which has won five titles in 10 seasons in the North Coast, was picked to finish second. The Little Giants are led by Kody LeMond, who is the first player in conference history to record back-to-back seasons with over 1,000 reception yards and he leads a group of returning receivers who combined to score 31 touchdowns and gain over 3,000 yards in 2009.
