CLEVELAND, Ohio - Allegheny junior goalkeeper Emily Karr has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference in the first weekly report. Karr was instrumental in guiding the Gators to their first 3-0 start since 2000.
The junior net minder from Wexford, Pa., made 12 saves and posted three shutouts in the Gators’ unblemished week. She stopped five shots against Carnegie Mellon, made two versus Clark, and five more against Western New England. A diving save in the 79th minute and a tip over the cross bar in the 88th minute preserved the victory against the Tartans. She pushed two more shots over the crossbar against the Golden Bears.
Karr, who has logged 270 scoreless minutes this season, has 20 career shutouts and is one shy of the school record.
